Back to the Lemonick story thread. This is Michael Lemonick, Aaron's son and a cousin removed of mine. He just recently gave me a lead on the unknown history of the Ferman family. Will tell you more later. He's a pretty interesting guy:
Senior Writer, TIME Magazine. Since joining TIME in 1986, Michael Lemonick has written more than 40 cover stories on topics ranging from the Exxon Valdez oil spill to emerging viruses to the McCaughey septuplets. In 2002 Mr. Lemonick and two other colleagues won the Overseas Press Club of America's Whitman Bassow Award for their "Global Warming" cover package (April 9, 2001), receiving first place for the best reporting in any medium on international environmental issues.
Mr. Lemonick came to TIME from Science Digest magazine, where he was a senior editor. He has written two books on astronomy and will have a third published in March 2003. He has contributed as a freelance writer to Audubon Magazine, Discover Magazine, The Washington Post, People Magazine, and Playboy. He has appeared many times on television and radio programs. He received his BA from Harvard College in 1975, and a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University in 1983. He is a two-time winner of the American Association for the Advancement of Science writing award, and also won the American Institute of Physics Science Writing Award.
