Last year I visited the Providence Children's Museum. They had a wonderful exhibit called, "Coming To Rhode Island." Along a tubular path you could enter various set pieces displaying the environments of chronologically arranged immigrant groups. Real grist for the imagination's mill. The House I Live In: Museum Installation
