Berenice Abbott

In the 1930's and 1940 Abbott created an incredible body of photographic work. Much of it is available through Dover Books, e.g. "New York in the 1930's, etc." The images were also available at the Museum of The City of New York's site, but they are not there currently. This reiterates the need to archive sites. Here is an image that in a way accompanies the previous posting. It was taken of Avenue D and East 10th Street in 1939. Note the Ford dealership!
