Thomson Gale Publishers specialize in history texts. We ordered some for the school. They are very graphic and the content is written in a clear and engaging manner. Here is a
slide show from the first chapter of "History Around You, A Unique Look At The Past, People and Policies of New York." It's an excellent fit for 4th grade. In this special 2 for 1 deal we have
a clip from the "Last of the Mohicans." I think it's a great film, but not one to be shown to elementary kids unless edited. That's the beauty of having them in a digitized form, because you can splice out questionable parts very easily. In background of this scene we see the same Iroquois longhouse as we see in the text.
