Why Are These People Laughing

Because the "A" rated school for which this was written today by Chancellor Klein:

PS 188 in Manhattan serves a high-needs population. Last year, when it received its pilot progress report, it realized it needed to engage students and do better. The principal and her team zeroed in on pockets of weakness, improving instruction and making sure that the curriculum was aligned with State standards. The educators at 188 began actively identifying students’ individual needs and addressing those needs. They also implemented a school-wide enrichment program, which allows students to pursue their talents and passions. One student who lives in a shelter learned how to play the violin. Another student conducted extensive research on the history of buses and created a movie based on his research. Another student created a video about the history and architecture of the school.

also received these results as part of its school survey
