Come Away With Me Lucille In My Merry Oldsmobile
Here's an Oldsie Oldie from two summers ago that's an appropriate follow up to the "Old Cars of New York" post of 7/31/06. It's an interview with the knowledgeable and gracious Donald Gruenberg. Don is an automotive history expert and former acquaintance of the late Greek American and scandal plagued Vice President, Spiro Agnew. Don is also the dad of my neighbor Dana, who despite the frantic efforts of Cheryl, is the unofficial mayor of Sherman Street. Dana is also famous for being the son in law of "Mary, Mary Quite Contrary" of Tom McGreevey fame. I didn't quite realize that so many of the car names were based on the real names of the early automotive innovators. PS, Spiro was a minor or "bush" leaguer compared to Cheney.
