Luverne, Minnesota and "The War"

"Luverne is one of four U.S. cities serving as anchor points for "The War." The series tells the story of WWII as it really was from the perspective of "so-called ordinary Americans" who fought and lived through the global cataclysm. The six-year project is acclaimed as the best work yet from legendary filmmaker Ken Burns who attended the Luverne premiere at the Palace Theater." Above I combined the audio from a recent Minnesota Public Radio Show about the connection of Luverne to the upcoming Burns' film. The images that form a backdrop come mostly from cityofluverne.org,collections.mnhs.org/(Minnesota Historical Society)and Quentin Aanenson's "Fighter Pilot"site, pages.prodigy.com/fighterpilot.
