Tony Avella On Bill Thompson And Willets Point

Two segments (here combined) from ny1.com. First, reported by Bob Hardt : "On Friday nights program, mayoral candidate Tony Avella had some tough words for his fellow Democrat in the mayor's race, Bill Thompson."

Second, reported by CeFaan Kim: "City Councilman and mayoral candidate Tony Avella is ramping up his attacks against the city's plan to move five Willets Point businesses to College Point."

I am sorry I missed Tony Avella on NY1. Of course Thompson is the machine candidate, but what a pathetic candidate he is. Is that the best they could do?!! What I did not hear Tony say (it was only a sound bite) is that Thompson has taken more then $100,000 in real estate money from the fat cat developers and he will be in debt to them if elected. And as if that were not bad enough, he has also taken about $10,000 from investments fund companies that manage the city's pension fund. These managers made 5M off the city in the last year. This should be a conflict of interest, but it appears that the Conflict of Interest Board is asleep at the switch. No news there.

Let's get some Honesty and Integrity in politics. Vote Tony Avella in the September primary. No more politics as usual.
