Concert: Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-Stars with Maracatu New York
Winner of a 2006 Grammy Award for his groundbreaking work with the legendary ensemble The Klezmatics, New York music icon and bandleader Frank London struts his trumpet to center stage for a breathtaking set of original klezmer jazz. London will be joined by Maracatu New York, the metro area's first and only Maracatu ensemble dedicated to the performance of traditional drumming from the northeast of Brazil. Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-Stars includes Susan Sandler on trumpet and vocals, Mark Hamilton on trombone, David Harris on trombone and baritone horn, Curtis Hasselbring on trombone, Merlin Shepard on clarinet, Mark Rubin on contrabass helicon, and Aaron Alexander on percussion. Maracatu New York features band leader and percussionist Scott Kettner and singer/dancer Liliana Araujo from Frotaleza, Brazil.
